Hello friends,
I know that right now you are wondering what made Tania so sad. It was the words of the people that I spoke with this weekend.
They were all having a good time happy to be off work and outdoors with their families. I said how beautiful I hope that you can do it more often.
When suddenly one of the children saw a book that was in the store, and he asked if it would be alright for him to have this book. It was filled with lots of colors and pictures perfect for a child who was wanting to learn how to read.
I smiled down at the boy and told him how beautiful the book looked and how smart he was for being able to read. When out of nowhere his mother walks up grabs the book out of his hands and tells the child we don't have money for that kind of stuff.
I was in shock, and so was the little boy. He said please a hundred times as they walked to the counter to pay for their Beer, Wine, Chips, Pop, Smokes, and Food.
How awful that a child of about 6 years old is told no that you can not have a book to learn how to read or to enjoy the colorful pictures. How SAD!!
But they had the money for Beer, Wine, Pop, Chips!
Yes, a very SAD DAY indeed.
